Whats' New

Why should I bother
 with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

If you were to apply for your current job now, would you get it?
Are you sure that your skills and knowledge are up to date?
Are you making the most of every opportunity, giving your best and receiving the best possible reward for your efforts?
Are you ready for the next stage in your career? If you can answer 'Yes' to all of these questions, you are probably already involved in a CPD programme.  Congratulations!

But if you've answered 'No' take a look at LWTT's IMPACT's CPD Network

Links to Literacies was a project which aimed to increase collaboration between local Adult Literacies Partnerships and the voluntary sector, thus increasing the effectiveness of adult literacies services, and ultimately the number of literacies learners.   It was one of the Literacies Pathfinder projects funded by Learning Connections (Communities Scotland).   The project was a partnership involving Learning Link Scotland, Careers Scotland, CVS Network, Volunteer Development Scotland and west Dunbartonshire Council Adult Literacies Partnership.

Aims of the project:

-  To increase collaboration and innovation in community literacies partnership
-  To improve the level of effective representation of voluntary organisations on literacies partnerships
-  To improve service delivery by developing and implementing an effective communication system throughout the network
-  To improve the quality of literacies programmes by increasing the number of voluntary organisations participating in the planning and delivery of adult literacies, and sharing experience, skills and knowledge
-  To improve literacies service delivery within the voluntary sector by providing training, support and development opportunities to link workers, and encouraging them to cascade learning to others in voluntary organisations
-  To increase the number of new literacies learners reached and engaged by a network development approach

Linked Work and Training Trust was the Link between the voluntary sector and the Adult Literacies Partnership in Falkirk.   As the 'Link Worker' our activities we carried out for this project were:

-  Attending Partnership Meetings (quarterly)
-  Convening Network Meetings (quarterly)
-  Communication (emails, letters, phonecalls etc)
-  Participating in training/development events (quarterly)
-  Tracking learners in the Falkirk area
-  Collating referrals from organisations in the Falkirk network
-  Paperwork
-  Cascading training to network members
