Fiona has overall responsibility for the management, organisation and future development of LWTT. This involves ensuring effective working relationships with LWTT’s partner in the delivery of the degree programme, Glasgow University, and the quality of its deliver and has recently successfully led the process of re-endorsement of its Bachelor of CLD (2008) and renewed its validation by the University (2009). Fiona also plays the lead role in co-ordinating and managing the research, consultancy and training services developed by LWTT. These include the development of bespoke training for organisations for national and local organisations, such as Glasgow CVS and LearnDirect Scotland, commissioned research, for instance a study into using the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework within the CLD sector for Communities Scotland and consultation work with local communities on behalf of local and national organisations. She is currently managing a joint consortium, which is undertaking a refresh of the CLD competences on behalf of the Standards Council for CLD.
Fiona has 22 years experience of delivering and managing a range of services across public, private and voluntary sectors. She has particular demonstrable skill in designing and delivering consultancy and training support for voluntary and community sector projects and groups and in project development and monitoring systems. Fiona also has wide experience of partnership and multi-agency work this having featured strongly in the local government and voluntary sector posts held in the last 10 years.
Fiona has a Post Graduate Diploma in Training Management and is a Chartered Member of CIPD. Before establishing LWTT she had worked in Further Education developing training materials and has also worked with refugees teaching English as a second language. Fiona serves on Approvals Committee for the newly formed Standards Council for CLD in Scotland and has chaired endorsement panels for submissions by other Further/Higher Institutions. Fiona is on the SCQF Community Learning and Development Forum, the Scottish CLD Workbased and Part-time Training Consortium, Vice Chairperson of Learning Link Scotland and member of the Scottish Funding Council’s recently formed Access and Inclusion Committee.
