k and Training Trust was delighted to receive a "Business in the Community Award" at the Forth Valley Business Awards 2005 at an awards dinner at the Inchyra Grange Hotel, Polmont on the 21st April 2005.

The award ceremony is regarded as the premier business event of the year and attracts around 350 guests from leading businesses in the local area and beyond.

The event was hosted by TV presenter and local girl Kaye Adams.

The awards are held to reward and recognise the achievements of businesses of all sizes across the industry sector in the area.

LWTT was one of three finalists chosen in this category and the other two finalists were R Mathieson and Sons Limited (Falkirk) and Stirling Carers Centre.

Cathy Peattie, MSP, Chairperson of LWTT accepted the award on behalf of the Trust from one of the main sponsors Bill Churchley of O-I Europe.   Upon receiving this award she says:

""It was a great honour to accept this award on behalf of the Trust and to have the work of  LWTT recognised in this way.   This success can only be attributed to the level of commitment and inspiration among LWTT Directors, workplace supervisors, students, staff and mentors".
