Refreshing of Scotland's Community Learning and Development Competences
The Standards Council for Community Learning and Development in Scotland, in conjuction with CeVe Scotland, wishes to refresh the professional competences for community learning and development (CLD) in Scotland.
Along with a consortium of agencies, led by Linked Work and Training Trust, which includes the Scottish Community Development Centre, Youthlink Scotland, and Avanté we have been contracted by the Scottish Government to undertake this work.
The Standards Council wishes to update these competences in line with recent research (including specific references within Empowered to Practice and changes in both the policy context and the CLD field since 1995, when they were last updated. Competences will apply to practitioners whose primary focus is CLD, will be generic in nature and will build on the Interim Standards Council's statement of principles and values.
