Support Mechanisms
Students participating in this programme are matriculated as full-time students of the University of Glasgow and as a result have full access to the range of support and resources available from the institution.
In addition the support available to students on the BME Linked Work & Training Programme are broader than those available to students in traditional study. The tutor plays a key role in providing tailored support based on the student's identified needs. Peer support is also a central component of the model.
Learning Component
SCVO's key role is to share learning among voluntary sector and community organisations and a range of public sector stakeholders around the experience and outcomes of designing and delivering the training programme in ways which dismantle barriers to skills development and employment progression faced by black and minority ethnic groups. The experiences of students will clearly inform this process.
