Evaluation Study of  Two Family Learning Initiatives

LWTT were contracted by the Scottish Government to  investigate the impact of family learning by building on the findings reported in the Scoping Study of Models of Family Learning carried out by LWTT in April 2008.

Aims of the evaluation:

Investigate the impact of family learning interventions described in two of the case studies   Brucehill Childcare Centre, Dumbarton and in Sanquhar Primary School,  Dumfries & Galloway.

Attempt to illuminate those factors which positively or negatively influence the outcomes of initiatives undertaken by the two case studies

Utilise baseline data from the local primary schools to ascertain whether there is any statistical evidence of the impact of family learning on the children involved compared to their peer group

It also referred to relevant policy outlined for example in Skills for Scotland, the Early Years Framework and the Curriculum for Excellence. In addition it will draw from insights outlined in Family Literacy, Language and Numeracy - A Practitioners' Handbook  published in 2008 by NRDC.

Why should I bother
 with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

If you were to apply for your current job now, would you get it?
Are you sure that your skills and knowledge are up to date?
Are you making the most of every opportunity, giving your best and receiving the best possible reward for your efforts?
Are you ready for the next stage in your career? If you can answer 'Yes' to all of these questions, you are probably already involved in a CPD programme.  Congratulations!

But if you've answered 'No' take a look at LWTT's IMPACT's CPD Network
