Whats' New

Why should I bother
 with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

If you were to apply for your current job now, would you get it?
Are you sure that your skills and knowledge are up to date?
Are you making the most of every opportunity, giving your best and receiving the best possible reward for your efforts?
Are you ready for the next stage in your career? If you can answer 'Yes' to all of these questions, you are probably already involved in a CPD programme.  Congratulations!

But if you've answered 'No' take a look at LWTT's IMPACT's CPD Network

BME LINKED WORK AND TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) and Linked Work & Training Trust (LWTT) developed this innovative pilot project which adapted a successful work-based professional training programme to target unqualified black and minority ethnic staff in white led voluntary organisations.  This project had 2 core aims:

Project Stucture

The programme was delivered as a partnership between SCVO and LWTT, adapting a local work-based training model to the specific needs of black and minority ethnic people and sharing learning experiences among stakeholders and relevant organisations.

The project delivered a three year package of training and work experience culminating in the award of the Bachelor in Community Learning and Development from the University of Glasgow.  In addition the project developed a steering group of key stakeholders, peer support and mentoring systems and a programme of conferences, seminars and publicity to raise awareness of the model and its future application adaptability.
